Archiving Policy

Auna Press is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of scholarly publications. This Archiving Policy establishes the procedures used to preserve published articles and maintain continued access to the scholarly record.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that articles published by Auna Press remain accessible and preserved for future researchers, authors, readers, and academic institutions.

Auna Press recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing.

2. Digital Archiving

Auna Press maintains digital copies of published articles and related publication metadata through its journal publishing platforms.

Published articles are preserved as part of the journal's permanent scholarly record and remain accessible through the journal website, subject to applicable editorial and legal policies.

3. Author Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to archive and share their published articles in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • university repositories;
  • personal academic websites;
  • research information systems; and
  • other appropriate scholarly platforms.

Authors may share the published version of their article in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

When archiving an article, authors are encouraged to provide the official citation and a link to the article's version of record on the Auna Press website.

4. Repository Deposit

Authors and institutions may deposit published articles in appropriate repositories without requiring additional permission from Auna Press, provided that the applicable licensing conditions are respected.

Repository copies should retain the original citation, author information, publication details, and applicable Creative Commons license information whenever possible.

5. Long-Term Preservation

Auna Press seeks to maintain the long-term preservation of published content through appropriate digital storage, backup, and preservation practices.

Preservation measures may include:

  • maintaining multiple digital copies;
  • regular data backups;
  • preservation of article files and metadata;
  • maintenance of journal databases and publishing systems; and
  • migration to appropriate digital formats or systems when technically necessary.

6. Preservation of the Version of Record

The version of record published on the official Auna Press journal platform is considered the authoritative published version.

If an article is corrected or retracted, the publication record should remain identifiable and appropriately linked to the relevant correction or retraction notice.

7. Continuity of Access

Auna Press aims to ensure continued access to published content in the event of changes to its publishing platform, website infrastructure, or technical systems.

Where technically and operationally feasible, archived content and metadata may be migrated to a new platform or preservation system without altering the scholarly record.

8. Article Withdrawal and Retraction

Articles that are withdrawn or retracted will not necessarily be removed completely from the scholarly record.

Where appropriate, the article will remain accessible with a clear withdrawal or retraction notice explaining its current publication status.

This approach supports transparency and prevents readers from unknowingly relying on content that is no longer considered part of the valid scholarly record.

9. Metadata Preservation

Auna Press seeks to preserve essential bibliographic metadata associated with published articles, including:

  • article title;
  • author information;
  • abstract;
  • keywords;
  • publication date;
  • journal title;
  • volume and issue;
  • page or article number, where applicable;
  • DOI or persistent identifier, where available; and
  • licensing information.

10. Open Access and Licensing

Articles published by Auna Press under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license may be freely accessed, shared, and adapted in accordance with the terms of that license.

Archiving and redistribution must retain appropriate attribution and comply with the applicable ShareAlike requirements.

11. Responsibility for Preservation

Auna Press, together with the editorial teams of its journals, is responsible for maintaining appropriate preservation procedures for published content.

Authors are encouraged to maintain copies of their published work and may use institutional or subject repositories as additional preservation mechanisms.

12. Policy Review

This Archiving Policy may be periodically reviewed and updated to reflect developments in digital preservation, open-access publishing, repository standards, and scholarly communication practices.
